Exhibitions
Come join us each month in a casual and friendly atmosphere when we celebrate the
opening of a new exhibit with a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception.
A new exhibit is hung each month, starting in October. Some exhibits feature
members, faculty, students or regional artists. Others are juried open exhibits
and the Island Art League encourages participation by all interested area artists.
Exhibit artwork is original and most is available for sale by the artists.
Opening receptions are on Friday, the first evening of the exhibit, from 5:30pm to
7:30pm, unless otherwise noted, and are always open and free to the public.
Gallery hours are 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, Tuesday through Friday. Admission is
always free.
Faculty Exhibit

Fall Open Exhibit
November 9 – 22, 2007

An all media exhibit open to all area artists.
Sarasota Ink
November 30 – December 20, 2007
View the works of seven area printmakers. This exhibit showcases monotype, woodcut, etching,
lithography, collograph and silkscreen printmaking techniques. Artists include Kevin Dean, Wendy
Dickinson, Robert Farber, Patrick Lindhardt, Joe Loccisano, Johnnie Lee Scott and Bradlee Shanks.
14th Annual James Pay Exhibit

Manatee High School art students
The Island Art League is grateful to the many excellent island restaurateurs who show
their support of the arts through the delectable food they prepare for our opening receptions.

Anna Maria Island Art League’s 21st Annual Fine Arts and Fine Crafts Festivals
Festival Dates
Winterfest - December 13 and 14
Springfest - March 14 and 15
Springfest 2008 was a resounding success. A windy Saturday proved challenging for the artists, but did not deter the record-breaking crowds. Sunday,
when the winds had passed, our little weekend art village truly bloomed!
Both Winterfest 2007 and Springfest 2008 brought talented artists and art lovers, from near and far,
to our little barrier island. Many who attended proclaimed this year’s festivals “the best ever”.
Currently, plans are underway to make next year’s events even more successful.
Festivals are a combination of people, education, entertainment and food where you can
find amazing items, hand crafted and offered for sale by talented artists.
...did we mention the festival food?
Fun in the sun and shopping - you couldn't ask for more.
