Art Classes and Workshops for Everyone
at Anna Maria Island Art League
Join us at the Island Art League for great classes and workshops. Sign up for four week sessions
(unless otherwise indicated) beginning the first week of each month. Register early! Class sizes
are small. Supply lists are available at the Art League when registering. Pre-registration is
recommended. Insufficient enrollment may result in class cancellation.

KIDS ART CAMP: The Great Island ART ESCAPE (Ages 6+)

Take a break from the sun and have some fun at the AMI Art Leagues first summer mini-camps.
Kids ages 6-10 will explore painting, sculpture and other exciting mediums in the afternoon. Taught by
experienced Art teachers. Fee includes materials.

KIDS & PARENTS WORKSHOPS
A Scrapbooking Adventure for Parent & Child (Ages 5+)
Instructor: Tammy Barrons
Amuse and amaze each other while turning your favorite photos into works of art. You'll learn how to use
cool tools, play with colors, embellishments and more. Bring in 6 to 12 photos and take home 1-2 finished
pages. Fee includes materials.
Saturday June 14, 10 noon.

Going Green...From Pulp to Paper A Workshop for Parent & Child (Ages 4+)
Instructor: Tammy Barrons
Kids, come make your very own paper then turn that paper into, cards, envelopes, bookmarks and more!
You'll have fun with Mom or Dad learning paper making basics. Spend fun time together... recycle, be
creative! Fee includes materials.
Saturday August 9, 10 noon.

KIDS CLASS: Intro to Black and White Photography (Ages 8+)
Instructor: Christine Galanopoulos
Have fun exploring composition and delight in forming favorite images. Each child will be given their own
one-time black and white camera. Your child will learn how his/her favorite negative can magically turn
into a print. Materials fee: $15

Oil Painting
Instructor: Alexandra Lillis
Experience the timeless art form of oil painting while creating your own works of art. Students will be
taught the basic painting techniques to develop and refine skills of light, color theory, composition,
and perspective. This class is for beginner to intermediate level.

Drawing the Clothed Model
Instructor: Alexandra Lillis
Students will be guided through the complexities of portraiture, pose, and proportion. This class will
also address fabric and its relation to the fully clothed human figure. Open to all experience and
drawing levels. Call the office for a supply list. Model fee will be collected at first class.

Explore the fine art of drawing and sketching with pencil, charcoal, and other mediums. Produce your
own finished pieces of creative and inspired compositions addressing light, shadow and form.

Photography: Black & White Composition through the Lens

Learn the basics of photography and composition through classical black and white film. Grey scale,
developing, (film and photos) will be taught. 35mm, medium format or 4x5 camera needed.

Introduction to Colored Pencils

This is an introduction to the basic techniques and various applications of colored pencils with one on

Vibrant White Flowers in Watercolor
Instructor: Cheryl Jorgensen
Learn the differences in values when painting white flowers. Cheryl will teach you to use shadows and how
to move from your lowest to highest values to make your flower pop in your painting.
This workshop is geared toward experienced beginners through intermediate painters.
